Day of the month ? Could be
Reconco, underestimated by lots of pilots. Last sunday, late in the afternoon low airtimers got to over 1000 m above take off, enjoying the convergence south/northeast.
This morning looked at weather forecast, and we could have the same. Clouds were forming rapidly over the ridgeline Carrasqueta, Maigmo, Palo, El Cid. Behind blue sky. That's where we needed to be. In Reconco, where there was no landbreeze, but a light easterly meteowind.
Arrived early, around midday. In time to feel the light breezes in our face, the whispers above take off, promising big stuff.
Ask Mads, Nico and Thor, they got to 2000 m ASL, and could have gone big XC, but decided to head for Font Roja. Meanwhile Rafa flew one of his better flights, into wind and toplanded in Palomaret. Dudo flew to, as well upwind, El Cati.
Although we do not have the best XC region in Spain, sometimes it is magic.
Again better flying at Reconco when it is not head on, but slightly off to the left, to the east so.
